After attending the University of Michigan, he graduated from medical school at Michigan State University and completed his ophthalmology residency at Loyola Medical Center in Maywood, IL. Dr. Mejia has been practicing medicine in Chicago-area hospitals since 1981 and has served as Medical Director of programs at Water Tower Surgicenter, Lakeside Hospital, AllCare Medical Clinics, US Healthworks, Mercyworks, and Norwegian American Hospital. Dr. Mejia also started his own ophthalmology clinics, where he continues to practice, in 1981.
