Overview of Dr. Berman
Dr. Joshua Berman is a psychiatrist based in New York, NY, with subspecialties in neuropsychiatry , treatment resistant mood disorders, interventional psychiatry, and psychopharmacology. He completed his education at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, his internship in Internal Medicine, and his residency in Psychiatry at New York Presbyterian Hospital (Columbia Campus). He has been serving as a Staff Psychiatrist at New York-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center since 2014 and was been involved with the Program in Experimental Brain Stimulation at Columbia University from 2010 to 2017; he continues to collaborate in research with the Division of Experimental Therapeutics in Columbia's department of Psychiatry and the New York State Psychiatric Institute. Dr. Berman has broad experience in neuromodulation therapies including ECT, rTMS, dTMS, tDCS, VNS, and DBS, as well as extensive experience with ketamine and esketamine treatment for depression. He has contributed to the literature with publications focusing on interventional psychiatry and brain stimulation, with one of his studies on transcranial magnetic stimulation for major depression being notably cited 260 times.
