Prior to residency, he completed a two-year clinical research fellowship at NYU Hansjörg Wyss Department of Plastic Surgery, where he focused on diabetic wound healing and composite facial allotransplantation. His academic work includes publications on pediatric vascular anomalies, body contouring, scalp reconstruction, and cell signaling in tissue repair.
