She is an enrolled member of the Navajo Nation currently employed as the Director of Healthy Tribes Program, with the CDC National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion, Division of Population Health. Her most recent roles included serving as the Chief Medical Officer for the Albuquerque Area Indian Health Service (IHS), as well as the Vice Chair of the Heroin, Opioids and Pain Efforts (HOPE) Committee, a national initiative through the IHS.
    Her education includes a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Pomona College and a Master's in Public Health with a concentration in Community Health, through the University of Arizona. She received her Medical Degree through the University Of New Mexico School of Medicine, followed by residency training through the University of California, Davis, Rural Family Medicine Residency Program. In pursuit of further personal and professional development, Dr. Reece obtained her Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA) through the University of Tennessee's Physician Executive MBA program. Throughout her career she has held leadership and clinical roles at IHS, Tribal and Private-sector Institutions. She has been active with teaching opportunities for medical students, residents and Special Forces Medics. Clinically, Dr. Reece has strong interest in Primary Care, Chronic Disease Prevention and Management, Sports Medicine, Chronic Pain, Historical Trauma, Social Determinants of Health, Trauma Informed Care, Palliative Care, Addiction Medicine and Population Health. Dr. Reece is certified as a Lean Six Sigma Champion as established by the Institute for Healthcare Quality Research and Education and has experience implementing Patient Centered Care Medical Home models of care.
