• Dr. Julie Bishop is an orthopaedic surgeon based in Columbus, OH, specializing in orthopedic sports medicine and shoulder surgery. She completed her medical education at Weill Cornell College of Medicine, followed by an internship and residency in orthopaedic surgery at George Washington University, and a fellowship in shoulder surgery at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in NYC and then a visiting fellowship in sports medicine at the University of Pittsburgh. She started her practice in 2004 and joined the department of Orthopaedic Surgery at The Ohio State university in 2005. Since 2011, she has been serving as the Chief of the Division of Shoulder, she is also currently the vice chair of finance and compensation as well as the academic vice chair of the department. She also serves as the director of clinical operations at the Jameson Crane sports medicine institute. Her clinical expertise encompasses 100% shoulder, including shoulder reconstruction, instability, arthroplasty, revision surgeries, fractures and rotator cuff pathology. Dr. Bishop has numerous publications in reputed journals, including studies on various aspects of shoulder arthroplasty and shoulder instability. She is a member of the MOON consortium of shoulder surgeons. She is involved in many clinical trials and multicenter research trials. She is also involved in many regional and national societies, including MAOA, Ohio Orthopaedic society, ASES, AAOS and AOSSM.
