He completed his fellowship in Vascular Surgery at McGaw Medical Center of Northwestern University in 1993 and his surgical residency and internship at University of North Carolina Hospitals. He holds an MPH in Epidemiology from the University of Michigan School of Public Health. Since 2010, Dr. Nolan has been the Medical Director at HFHS Providence Southfield / RestorixHealth, a wound care and hyperbaric medicine center and holds medical school appointments at the level of clinical professor at Wayne State University and Michigan State University. His expertise includes peripheral and cerebrovascular diseases, wound care, hyperbaric care, and various vascular surgical procedures. Dr. Nolan has authored a number of peer-reviewed publications and is involved in clinical trials such as the Carotid Revascularization Endarterectomy Versus Stenting Trial. He has received several awards and honors, including the Womack Scholar's Award.
In addition to his clinical responsibilities with HFHS Providence Southfield hospital, he recently joined Restorixhealth as Regional Medical Director for the Midwest and MidAtlantic regions.
