Summary
- I practice clinical neonatology at the level 4 NICU at Nemours/AI duPont Hospital for Children and the level 3 Special Care Nursery at St. Francis Hospital. My administrative responsibilities include chairing the Department of Pediatrics at St. Francis Hospital, leading the quality and safety program in the Nemours/AIdHC NICU as the Neonatal Safety Officer, and as the site director of the neonatal fellowship program at Nemours. My role in the Nemours NICU also includes being the physician sponsor of Nemours participation in the Children's Hospital Neonatal Consortium(CHNC). I am also an active member in the Medical Executive Committee at St. Francis, the Peer Review Committee at Nemours/AIdHC and the Ethics Committee at AIdHC.
My research experience primarily works on efforts to utilize shared hospital data between level 4 NICUs to assess and evaluate uncommon outcomes. In this setting, I lead the CHNC's newly developed Mortality Focus Group and am an active participant in the CHNC's Surgical NEC focus group and a member of the CI/QI team.
Ideally my career will help improve the safety of the medical care of the infants in my trust while producing a better understanding of hospital based neonatal mortality.
