- Dr. Kin Y. Lam, MD, founder of Advanced Oncology P.C., is a Board Certified Hematology and Oncology specialist located in Manhattan and Brooklyn, New York with over 30 years of experience. After graduating from the University of Hong Kong in 1983 with degrees in medicine and surgery, Dr. Lam went on to complete his residency at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in 1985 and Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center in Brooklyn in 1988. He completed his fellowship in the Hematology-Oncology Division at St. Luke’s–Roosevelt Hospital, Columbia University and received his medical degree from the University of the State of New York in 1994. He is affiliated with Mount Sinai Beth Israel Medical Center and New York Presbyterian Hospital, and since 1997 has been an Assistant Professor of Medicine at New York Medical College.
From the Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine of the University of Hong Kong, Dr. Lam takes pride in serving the Chinese and Chinese American community. He is an active member of the Chinese Community Accountable Care Organization, the Association of Chinese American Physicians, and a lifetime member of the Chinese American Medical Society. He is also a board member of the American Cancer Society Asian Initiatives Advisory Board, executive board member of China Aids Fund, and Medical Director of Community Oncology in the Asian Services Division at Beth Israel.
In addition to his medical practice, Dr. Lam has published multiple abstracts that focus on Chinese and Chinese American patients’ cancer and cancer treatment. He has presented his research findings to educate other medical professionals and continues to conduct research to help improve pain and symptom management for undeserved communities. His work has obtained a number of grants from the U.S. Cancer Pain Relief Committee as well as the American Cancer Society for quality improvement interventions to improve social well-being, patient communities, and refine pain management in Chinese cancer patients.
