• Dr. Kulmeet Kundlas is a board-certified internist in Central Florida, and executive director of Shield Medical Group in Sebring. He is a member of the American College of Physicians, the American Medical Association, the American Society of Internal Medicine, and the Polk County Medical Association. He completed his medical school education at MBBS-Government Medical College, where he was on the Dean's List. He then immigrated to the United States, and completed his residency at New York Methodist Hospital Brooklyn New York in 1997. He started his private practice soon after in Lake Wales, Florida, partnered with the renowned Dr. Sukumar Mathan. The practice grew, relocating from Lake Wales to Winter Haven and then Haines City. Both doctors were affiliated with Lake Wales Medical Center, Winter Haven Hospital and Heart of Florida regional medical center. We were also affiliated to Grove Nursing Home and Grace Nursing Home. In 2014, the practice was acquired by DaVita Medical Group to purchase our practice to incorporate our quality practices into their existing multiple primary care offices. Dr. Kundlas founded Shield Medical group in 2019 to focus on his passion for integrated healthcare delivery. "It is my philosophy that every patient deserves timely, comprehensive and cost-effective care," said Kundlas. "I will accomplish above by giving her patients online access to schedule their own appointments, 24-hour availability via healthcare patient portal, virtual visits via telemedicine."
