Summary

  • Dr. Baraff is a Professor of Pediatrics and Emergency Medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. He is a past member of the Editorial Board of the Annals of Emergency Medicine, and his achievements have been recognized and honored by the American College of Emergency Physicians, the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Society for Academic Emergency Medicine, the American Roentgen Ray Society, and the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services. He has served on the National Council and the Board of Directors of the American College of Emergency Physicians and as President of the California Chapter. He has also been a member of the Emergency Medical Services Commission of the County of Los Angeles, the National Faculty of the American Heart Association and the Executive Committee of the Southern California Injury Prevention Research Center. He played a key role in the creation of the Trauma Systems for the State of California and Los Angeles County. Dr. Baraff's fields of research interest include Health Services Research, Medical Decision Making, Pediatric Infectious Diseases, Geriatrics and Behavioral Health. He has received over $22,000,000 in research grants and is the author of over 120 scientific publications.
