- Laurence Busse, M.D., MBA, FCCM is a Distinguished Physician and an Associate Professor of Medicine within the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care, Allergy and Sleep Medicine at Emory University. He is boarded in Internal Medicine and Critical Care Medicine. Dr. Busse has held many leadership roles within Emory, including serving as the Medical Director of Critical Care at both Emory St. Joseph's Hospital and Emory Johns Creek Hospital as well as serving as the Site Director of the Emory Critical Care Center (ECCC) for Jboth locations. Dr. Busse now leads the Satellite Trials Group of Emory (STaGE), a multi-site distributed clinical trials platform that brings together investigators from multiple Emory locations in the execution of translational research. Dr. Busse’s research focuses on sepsis and septic shock, and the role that novel therapeutics and theragnostics play in disease management. Dr. Busse is a recipient of the Emory Critical Care Center’s Timothy G. Buchman Award in Transformational Leadership. He is a Fellow of the American College of Critical Care Medicine.
