- Dr. Runser currently works as clinical provider and teaching faculty at the Novant Health Family Medicine Residency Clinic/Program in Cornelius, NC. He earned his medical degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, Cleveland, OH. He also earned is master’s degree in public health at Case Western Reserve University. He completed his undergraduate training at the United States Military Academy at West Point. He served the last 12 years in active duty service in the United States Army including two combat deployments and recently transitioned out of the military. Dr. Runser has been residency teaching faculty and clinical staff since 2012 and enjoys practicing broad scope family medicine. He continues to practice obstetric and rural emergency medicine in addition to outpatient medicine. He is the scholarly activity and academic coordinator at Novant Health Family Medicine Residency in Charlotte, NC and serves as assistant clinical professor to Virginia College of Medicine and Campbell University School of Medicine. His topics of interest include syncope, celiac disease, and promoting scholarly activity. His areas of clinical practice interest include broad scope family medicine/obstetrics, emergency medicine, academic medicine, and scholarly activity.
