  • Dr. Lonny Behar is a psychiatrist in Summit, New Jersey. He received his Medical Degree from the University at Buffalo School of Medicine in 1983 and his undergraduate degree from Princeton University in 1979. He completed a residency in Psychiatry at St. Vincent's Hospital and Medical Center of New York in 1987 and a Fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at NYU Medical Center in 1989. Dr. Behar also has a post-graduate certificate in Mental Health Administration from the New School. He has been in practice for nearly forty years. He is board certified in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry as well as Adult Psychiatry. He is also a Distinguished Life Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association. Dr. Behar is currently in full-time private practice; previously he worked in academic medicine at New Jersey Medical School and clinical administration at Morristown Medical Center-Atlantic Health System. Dr. Behar specializes in psychopharmacology of children, adolescents, and adults, and frequently collaborates with therapists in the community.
