Overview of Dr. Aronne
Dr. Louis Aronne is the Sanford I. Weill Professor of Metabolic Research and Director of the Comprehensive Weight Control Center at Weill Cornell Medicine in New York City. An internal medicine specialist with a subspecialty in obesity medicine, he graduated from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in 1981 completed his residency in internal medicine at Jacobi Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine and a fellowship in general internal medicine at New York Presbyterian Hospital. Dr. Aronne has extensive experience in obesity research and medical weight management and has authored more than 200 research articles on these subjects, including publications in NEJM, JAMA, Nature Medicine and Lancet. He is a past-president of The Obesity Society, and founder and past chair of The American Board of Obesity Medicine. Dr. Aronne has received numerous accolades such as being listed among the Top Doctors in the New York Metro Area by Castle Connolly for over 20 years.
