• Dr. Luigi Garibaldi, MD is a Pediatric Endocrinologist who spent most of his career at the UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh and University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He received his medical education from the University of Genoa, Italy - Faculty of Medicine and completed consecutive pediatrics residencies and fellowships at Temple University/St. Christopher's Hospital for Children in Philadelphia, PA, the University of Michigan Health System in Ann Arbor, MI, and the University of Chicago. Dr. Garibaldi's areas of expertise have included puberty and its disorders; growth disorders; and disorders of the posterior pituitary. He has published numerous studies in prominent journals such as the The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism, the Journal of Pediatric Endocrinology & Metabolism, Hormone Research in Paediatrics, and JAMA Pediatrics. Among his recognitions, he was awarded America's Top Doctors and featured in Pittsburgh Magazine by Castle Connolly from 2010-2014 and 2010-2011 respectively. He retired from the UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh at the end of 2023. He remains active, as Professor Emeritus at the University of Pittsburgh in clinical research studies with his former colleagues in Pittsburgh, paper writing, manuscript reviews and other academic activities.
