Dr. Shenk treats traumatic brain injuries (mild, moderate, severe, and disorders of consciousness); non-traumatic brain injuries (stroke, brain tumors, MS); spasticity; spinal cord injuries; movement disorders; amputees; cerebral palsy; gait abnormalities; balance dysfunction; neurodegenerative disorders; and muscular dystrophies.
Dr. Shenk completed her medical degree at Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1999, followed by an internship at Spokane Teaching Health Center, and residency at Model System Baylor University Medical Center. She worked inpatient/outpatient neuro-rehabilitation and spasticity management at Sister Kenny Rehabilitation Institute in Minneapolis after finishing residency from 2003 to 2005. She then re-located to Billings, MT in 2005 and work for the Billings Clinic from 2005-2024. She served a host of leadership roles including 11 years as Department Chair of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Billings Clinic, medical director opening up the first rehabilitation hospital in MT, and chair and co-chair of MDA, ALS, Myotonic MD, and pediatric MDA clinics. She relocated to Boise, Idaho summer of 2024 to challenge herself to a new community and focus on Brain Injury (both traumatic and non-traumatic) as the Medical Director for St. Luke's Brain Injury Program. She continues to focus solely on adult neuro-rehabilitation.
In her free time, Dr. Shenk enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, and exploring the outdoors through hiking, camping, biking, skiing, and paddling.
