Summary
- I am a clinical cancer geneticist. I see patients and families with a cancer diagnosis and/or a predisposition or an increased risk of cancer. In my clinic, we offer comprehensive genetic counseling, state-of-the-art genetic testing and a tailored plan to manage or reduce the risk of cancers. We also participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards, which bring together experts from a variety of specialties to discuss treatment planning.

Compared to genes like BRCA1 and BRCA2, we know less about SDHA because it is rarer and it is associated with a condition that can go undetected for decades.2018 - 2019

- Postdoctoral research fellow, Department of Biochemistry, MUSC, SCI helped discover and describe mtFDH (mitochondrial 10-formyltetrahydrofolate dehydrogenase) from cloning the gene ALDH1L2. MtFDH is a protein involved in the creation of formate in the mitochondria and it has crucial implications in providing building block for our cells to grow and divide.2009 - 2011
