He completed his education at top-tier institutions including a BA in Molecular Biology at Harvard College, and medical school at Tufts University where he also completed his surgery residency and vascular surgery fellowship. Dr. Iafrati served in the US Air Force and finished as Lt. Colonel in 2001. He later served as Section Chief at the Cardiovascular Center at Tufts Medical Center from 2001 to 2021. Now at Vanderbilt he is the Vice Chair for Professionalism, the Director of Wound Care and the Director of the Vein Center. He specializes in areas including peripheral vascular disease, chronic venous insufficiency, and various vascular surgical procedures. He has over 100 peer reviewed journal publications. Dr. Iafrati has been repeatedly recognized as one of America's Top Doctors by Castle Connolly and has received honors such as CMS Meaningful Use Stage 1 Certification from eClinicalWorks EHR and Fellowship from American College of Surgeons.
