- Physician-Scientist: I have been educated and trained as a scientist and a board-certified physician. I was on faculty at the University of Southern California and Director of Hematopathology at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles before moving into a series of leadership positions at Caris Life Sciences. I remain on the medical staff at CHLA as a clinical consultant.
Enterprise Medical Leadership: I have significant experience with precision oncology testing strategy and management; I have held a series of leadership roles at Caris Life Sciences where I have recruited many MD and PhD medical experts to work in the 40+ person Pathology and Molecular Genetics clinical practice group. I am currently serving as Chief Clinical Officer, Pathologist-in-Chief, & Senior Vice President at Caris Life Sciences where I work on clinical development strategy, patient safety, cross-functional leadership, external stakeholder engagement, and building and managing the clinical teams.
Medical/Laboratory Director/Quality/Regulatory: My laboratory Medical Directorship experience includes Hematology, Immunology, Flow Cytometry, and Anatomic and Molecular Pathology. Current NYCQ holder. I have overseen multiple new NGS test submissions to NYSDOH and MOLDx. I have served as principal investigator on clinical studies for a successful NGS CDx PMA submission to the FDA (MI Cancer Seek). Experienced with development, validation, and productization of AI algorithms (NGS and Digital Pathology) for clinical testing. I led the development, clinical validation, and deployment of an efficient high-capacity Digital Pathology system at Caris Life Sciences that generates over a petabyte of data from ~1.2M slide scans per year. I have headed the Quality Management System at Caris Life Sciences with CAP/CLIA, ISO 15189, and ISO 13485 certification.
