    Dr. Michael Howard is the only pathologist in the state of Georgia with double fellowship training in dermatopathology and hematopathology.

    Maintained a perfect record since 2003 in the yearly Laboratory Proficiency Test assessment by the American Society of Dermatopathology.

    Maintained a perfect record since 2002 with continuous certification by Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendment (CLIA)regulated by the U.S. department of Health and Human Services for laboratory testing. Maintained perfect record for since 2003 until now obtained by the Georgia Department of Community Health as Laboratory director.

    Dr. Howard is one of only about 25 double fellowship trained pathologists in the entire United States in Dermatopathology and Hematopathology.

    Dr. Howard has more than a 130 peer review journal publications, being the dermatopathologist with more publications. This speaks of his track record.

    Dr. Howard graduated summa cum laude from the University of Georgia, then earned a Master of Science degree from Yale University and a Doctorate in Medicine from the Emory University School of Medicine.

    Dr. Howard is board-certified in anatomic pathology and clinical pathology and holds special certification in Dermatopathology from the American Boards of Dermatology and Pathology. He completed his dermatopathology fellowship training under two presidents of the American Society of Dermatopathology and has also completed rigorous fellowship training in hematopathology. Dr. Howard's honors include membership in Phi Beta Kappa and a Mensa Society fellowship, and he has numerous professional publications in print or pending publication.
