Miriam Benedicta (Louthan) Vos MD MSPH

• Dr. Miriam B. Vos, MD, MSPH, FAHA, FAASLD is a pediatric transplant hepatologist and physician scientist based in Grand Rapids, MI. Dr. Vos completed her Pediatric Gastroenterology fellowship at the University of Louisville in Kentucky and her Pediatric Transplant Hepatology fellowship at Children's Memorial, now Lurie Children's in Chicago, IL. After this she joined Emory University and Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, where she was an Attending Hepatologist and physician scientist for 19 years before being recruited to Grand Rapids, MI. Today, Dr. Vos is a Tenured Professor of Pediatrics at Michigan State University, Associate Chair of Translational Science for the Department of Pediatrics, and Director of Research for Helen DeVos Children's Hospital at Corewell Health. Dr. Vos's NIH-funded research portfolio focuses on cardio-kidney-liver-metabolic disease in childhood and seeks to advance prediction, prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of MASLD and insulin resistance in youth. Dr. Vos is funded to mentor early-career scientists through her K24 mid-career mentoring grant, a prestigious award from NIH NHLBI for physician-scientist mentors to expand the future portfolio of MD/DO scientists. She welcomes trainees and early-career faculty to reach out to discuss opportunities on her team and in her division.
