- Dr. Nathan Kravis is a Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at Weill Cornell Medical College in New York. He did his residency in psychiatry at the Payne Whitney Clinic, New York Presbyterian Hospital from 1983 to 1987, after graduating from the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania in 1983. He completed his psychoanalytic training at the Columbia University Center for Psychoanalytic Training and Research in 1993 and now serves as a Training and Supervising Analyst and faculty member there. His notable publications include "Charisma" in The Psychoanalytic Quarterly (2021), and his book, "On the Couch: A Repressed History of the Analytic Couch from Plato to Freud" (MIT Press, 2017) and several frequently cited articles in the Journal of the American Psychoanalytic Association and The Psychoanalytic Quarterly. He is Associate Director of the DeWitt Wallace Institute of Psychiatry: History, Policy, and the Arts at Weill Cornell Psychiatry.
