Nathan Walter Rojek MD

Summary

• Dr. Nathan Rojek is an Associate Professor in the Department of Dermatology at UC Irvine (UCI), where he serves as the Director of Inpatient Dermatology. He graduated magna cum laude from Allegheny College, where he played NCAA Division III football and was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa honor society. Dr. Rojek graduated magna cum laude from Georgetown University School of Medicine, where he was inducted into both the Alpha Omega Alpha and Gold Humanism medical honor societies. He completed his residency in dermatology at Oregon Health & Science University, where he was a chief resident.
  He specializes in inpatient consultative dermatology, severe drug eruptions, infectious diseases, and complex medical dermatology, including chronic inflammatory skin diseases (e.g. atopic dermatitis, psoriasis, urticaria, hidradenitis). Dr. Rojek also has a passion for medical education and previously served as the Associate Director of the UCI Dermatology Residency Program for over 5 years, and he currently serves as a Dean's Scholar in the UCI School of Medicine. He was honored to receive the UCI School of Medicine Excellence in Teaching Award in 2019 and the Rising Star award in 2020. He has authored numerous textbook chapters and research papers in peer-reviewed journals, and he has given presentations at many regional and national dermatology conferences. He is a past President of the Orange County Dermatologic Society and currently serves as the Secretary-Treasurer of the Pacific Dermatologic Association.
