Summary
- Nicholas E. Kman, MD, FACEP is a Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center (OSUWMC). Dr. Kman’s clinical interest is in Disaster Response and Emergency Preparedness. He developed and instructs a course in Emergency Preparedness and Disaster Response Course for Senior Medical Students. He serves as one of the Medical Managers for Ohio Task Force 1, Ohio’s FEMA Urban Search and Rescue team and has deployed to Hurricane Harvey (2017), Hurricane Dorian (2019), and Hurricane Laura (2020). Dr. Kman and the Ohio State Advanced Computing Center for the Arts and Design (ACCAD) are working on a 1.8 million dollar grant to teach Mass Casualty Triage to First Responders in Virtual Reality. Most recently, he published a systematic review on the Allocation of Scarce Resources in Disasters and has worked on the Ohio Crisis Standards of Care Plan.
