Summary

  • Pamela A. Pappas MD, based in Scottsdale, AZ, is a psychiatrist with subspecialty expertise in Psychosomatic Medicine (Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry) and Integrative Medicine. She is also a multiply certified Personal and Executive Coach for physicians, working with colleagues nationally via Zoom. She completed her psychiatry residency at ECU Brody School of Medicine, and fellowship in Consultation-Liaison psychiatry at Duke University Medical Center. She pursued her further interests in healing-oriented medicine through a fellowship at the Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine (University of Arizona College of Medicine). Dr. Pappas has cared for hundreds of physicians at all levels of training and practice over the course of her career. She recently closed her formal medical practice to coach more of her colleagues through and beyond burnout, moral injury, personal illnesses, and major life and career transitions such as retirement. She helps each physician discover his/her deepest desires in life and career, partnering with them as they create this in real life. Where medical culture can be very sick and unbalanced, she encourages physicians to care for on their strengths, health, and psychospiritual well-being. This also improves the way they offer their expertise to patients, and serve on and lead teams and organizations. She has been recognized as a Super Doctor by SuperDoctors.com.
