• Dr. Karl was originally from St. Paul, Minnesota. After graduating from the University of Minnesota with a Doctor of Pharmacy Degree, Dr. Karl attended medical school in Des Moines, IA. He then moved to Winston Salem, NC to train at the Wake Forest anesthesiology residency program for four years. He then completed an interventional pain management fellowship at the Carolinas Pain Institute in Winston Salem, NC. This training emphasized cutting edge technology in many ongoing clinical studies and new drug development for patients in pain. Dr. Karl believes in a multidisciplinary approach to pain management and is prepared to treat all types of chronic pain. He started Magnolia Midlands Pain Management with the intention of bringing new approaches in pain management to an underserved area. Dr. Karl is the only full-time, board certified Pain Management Specialist in Wayne County.
