Summary

  • I am a Rehabilitation Physician with interest in the issue of falls and in developing a fall prevention technology for walker dependent older persons.

I am in the process of researching and bringing to fruition the “Reminding Walker” device. The “Reminding Walker” is an inexpensive add on to any walker that provides real time reminding for use of the walker as a person begins to stand.

    (See US Patent 9180063)

I believe that this has potential to increase walker use and thus decreaseS fall risk.

I am interested in finding a path to commercialization for this invention that will likely involve Licensing but could possibly involve a Startup and Crowd Funding. I am therefore seeking to develop a Community of Interest both for early purchase of the device, and possibly for investment in a company to commercialize the device.

Most folks with whom I have discussed the “Reminding Walker” device recognize the value based on personal experience with patients or their own elderly loved ones.

I would be glad to communicate further about this.
