He has been recognized as Top Doctor by Washingtonian Magazine and Super Doctors by the Washington Post. He was a team ophthalmologist for multiple Washington DC sports teams, including the Washington Capitals, Washington Wizards, and DC United.
  
  Dr. Kang’s motivation to become an eye doctor was sparked by growing up with a blind father. As a result, he has a strong interest in international medicine and is on the board of Health in Sight Mission of Roatan. He regularly leads mission teams to provide ophthalmic care to the indigent residents in Roatan and is currently working to help create a sustainable eye care facility run by local Honduran doctors.
  
  Dr. Kang graduated from Harvard University cum laude and received his medical degree at Indiana University. He completed his ophthalmology residency at the Duke University Eye Center, and completed a prestigious fellowship in cornea, external disease, and refractive surgery at the John Moran Eye Center at the University of Utah.
