Summary
- I grew up in Hagerstown, Maryland and completed my undergraduate degree at Duke University in 2004 majoring in Biomedical Engineering. I arrived in Bradenton in 2015 after completing my surgical training.
Florida Surgical Specialists is flourishing with 4 providers in 2023. After my hiring woes with growth became a large burden, I founded @ringofhires to streamline the hiring for practices like mine with innovated solutions as a white glove solution. Our goal at @ringofhires is to make hiring so streamlined, that we can focus on being clinicians.
My General Surgery training was at the University of South Florida and I did fellowship training in Hepatopancreatobiliary & Advanced Foregut Laparoscopic & Robotic Surgery. My fellowship was completed in 2013 at Florida Hospital Tampa.
I am an academician at heart with 21 publications to date and 37 national/regional presentations. My research fellowship from 2011-2012 at the Moffitt Cancer Center focused on cancer immunology for melanoma and pancreatic cancer.
My wife, Dr. Karen Matta-Toomey, is an Obstetrician & Gynecologist and I have two beautiful daughters.
