• Philip Korenman, MD, is a psychiatrist based in Plano, TX. He completed his medical education in 1982 at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, followed by a Residency in General Psychiatry at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Dallas from 1982 to 1986. He has been continuously in private practice in Dallas and Plano ever since. For his first decade in practice he was variously on staff at local psychiatric programs, serving as Medical Director at several, while also caring for his outpatient practice. Since 1999 he has exclusively seen private outpatients, officing in the same building since he moved to Plano in 1989. Dr. Korenman has an excellent reputation in the North Dallas and Plano area as someone for treating a wide variety of psychiatric disorders, specializing in mood and anxiety disorders, ADHD, PTSD, and comorbid alcohol and substance use disorders. He is known for his compassionate, down to earth style of relating to his patients while collaborating with his patients' other behavioral and medical caregivers. Dr. Korenman was again voted to the Best Doctors of Collin County for 2025, an honor he's enjoyed annually for many years.
