- Dr Matthews utilizes both conventional and complementary approaches to treat chronic pain. He does not prescribe opioids. Dr Matthews treats acute and chronic pain due to auto accidents, falls, trauma, degenerative arthritis of the spine, joints, and disks, neck and back pain, headaches, fibromyalgia, myofascial pain syndrome, inflammatory bowel disease, rheumatological diseases, diabetic neuropathy, and other neuralgias.
He also treats psychological effects of chronic pain such as depression, anxiety, insomnia, post-traumatic stress disorder, and grief. Medical conditions like diabetes and atherosclerosis may complicate and worsen chronic pain states. These conditions must also be identified and treated.
