Summary

• Dr. Phillip Nye is an experienced physician with a demonstrated history of working in the hospital & health care industry as an anesthesiologists for nearly 20 years. He is skilled in Clinical Research and public speaking in the fields of preoperative patient safety, anesthesia and sleep medicine. His area’s of interest include, heart rate variability during REM sleep and central sleep apnea. He completed his fellowship in sleep medicine at Eastern Virginia Medical School. Recently, Dr. Nye was the lead author of two research projects. The first study evaluated the efficacy and compliance of ASV therapy for the treatment of central sleep apnea amongst a population of VA patients. His second project involved an interesting case study describing significant retinal nerve fiber layer thinning in a patient with severe obstructive sleep apnea. He is the founder of Anesthesia and Sleep Medicine Services of Florida. He is an active member of the ASA, FSA, and serves as a committee member for the Academy of Sleep Medicine and the Society of Anesthesia and Sleep Medicine.
