  • Dr. Piero Antuono is a Behavioral Neurologist based in Milwaukee, WI, with subspecialties in dementia and Psychiatry. He completed his medical education at the University of Florence and pursued residencies in neurology, psychiatry and fellowship at Johns Hopkins University Since 1985, he has been a professor at the Medical College of Wisconsin. Dr. Antuono has contributed to the understanding of neurodegenerative diseases through his research on Alzheimer's disease as medical director of the Nun Study, developer of resting state fMRI in dementia and drug studies of anticholinergics and anti-amyloid compounds. He was president of the Dementia Study Group of the World Federation of Neurology and was instrumental in starting several international studies dedicated to the coordination of clinical criteria for dementia. His work has been recognized with several awards, including a Commendation from the Wisconsin Legislature and Governor. Clinically he ran a comprehensive and program for the dementias based at Froedtert Memorial Hospital and the VA Administration Hospital and was mentor to many generations of medical students and residents
