  • Dr. Bui received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Molecular Biology from Pomona College. He earned his medical degree from the Dartmouth Brown joint program in Medicine and completed internship and medicine residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Bui also finished fellowship training in Cardiovascular Diseases at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in 2008 and continued with an additional 2 years of subspecialty training in interventional cardiology and structural heart disease interventions at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, where he worked under nationally and internationally recognized experts in the field. In 2011, Dr. Bui passed the board certification examination in Interventional Cardiology scoring in the top 10% of examinees.

    Dr. Bui’s area of expertise are coronary artery disease and structural and valvular heart disease. He specializes in complex percutaneous coronary interventions including the use of rotational atherectomy. He is also has expertise in a variety of advanced structural and valvular interventions including transcatheter valve replacement, percutaneous balloon valvuloplasty, transcatheter alcohol septal ablation for hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, and transcatheterclosure of patent foramen ovale for cryptogenic stroke, atrial and ventricular septal defects, patent ductus arteriosus, and para-valvular leaks.

    Dr. Bui is currently an Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and a practicing interventional cardiologist at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center where he serves as the Medical Director of the Coronary Intensive Care Unit and Director of the Structural Heart Disease Program. He has a research interest in therapies that improve cardiovascular disease outcomes.
