  • Dr. Randy Woods is a general surgeon based in Dayton, OH, with subspecialties in trauma surgery and surgical critical care. He completed his medical education at Indiana University School of Medicine in 1991, followed by a surgery residency at Wright State University and a surgical critical care fellowship at UPMC Medical Education. During which time Dr Woods worked in the lab of Dr Peter Safar in the field of suspended animation. Dr Woods served in the USAF as a General Surgeon at Nellis AFB. He returned to Wright State Univ Boonshoft SOM in 2002 where he remains today. He now splits his time between the administration of the academic department of surgery and the GME programs at WSU. Dr. Woods holds several academic positions at Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine, including Associate Dean of Graduate Medical Education/DIO, Elizabeth Berry Gray Chair and Professor of Surgery. Dr. Woods is an active researcher with numerous publications. He has been recognized as a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
