Dr Gbadegesin research focus is on understanding the molecular pathogenesis of nephrotic syndrome and other chronic kidney diseases. He has published more than 180 original papers in the field. He is involved in clinical trials addressing pediatric kidney health issues. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. He was elected into the American Society of Clinical Investigation (ASCI) in 2016 and more recently to the American Association of Physicians (AAP).
