He graduated from Saint Louis University School of Medicine in 1972 and completed his internship as a pediatric straight residency program at Cardinal Glennon, from 1972-1973. He later complete Residency in Radiology-Diagnostic at Washington University/B-JH/SLCH Consortium between 1973-1976. Dr. Chepey was honored as the Chief of Staff at MMC, Head of IRB, and taught Radiology to Family Practice from MMC/UT in 1976 and 2009. Also taught photography for many years, and had a one man show of his work of the people of Sapelo Island, and contributed photographs to the book of Cornelia Walker Bailey.
