Then, 3D printing is used to create customized Patient Specific Instrumentation, which is shipped to the operating room and sterilized for my use,” says Dr. Kayal. “This state-of-the-art technology allows me to perform a virtual knee replacement in advance of surgery and create a new knee that’s customized specifically to a patient’s body.
