- Dr Robin Unger is a world reknown hair transplant surgeon. Her private practice in NYC focuses on both female and male hair restoration - with a special interest in treating patients pro-actively. Dr Unger believes hair transplant surgery is both an art and a science. She utilizes the latest techniques and is constantly investigating newer modalities and treatments. Current investigations include PRP, Acell, and hair preservation.
Each patient is seen by Dr Robin Unger in consultation for an hour. This opportunity allows a review of the underlying causes of the hair loss and potential contributing factors. Treatment recommendatiins may include nutritional, hair products, medical therapies and surgical procedures.
She has a very strong interest in teaching and promoting best practices for patients. She is an Assistant Prof at Mount Sinai, and has been teaching international Fellows and Residents since 2004. She was recently awarded the "Best Teacher Award" by the dermatology residents at Mount Sinai Hospital. Dr Unger was recently elected by her colleagues to the prestigious position of a board director for the American Board of Hair Restoration. She has been a member of the ISHRS since 2001 and has lectured annually at their conferences.
