  • Dr. Saad A. Shakir is an American Psychiatrist who is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry & Neurology. He is the founder and former medical director of Silicon Valley TMS, a private practice group that provides a multidisciplinary team of clinicians to deliver individually tailored treatments for patients and their families. He is also the chief of innovative therapy, including TMS, at Refresh Mental Health Group. Dr. Shakir has been actively involved in the development and promotion of Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), an FDA-approved treatment for depression that is non-invasive and without systemic side effects. He has been a founding board member of the Clinical TMS Society, a national and international TMS society, and has served as past president of the Northern California TMS Society. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Shakir has been an Adjunct Clinical Associate Professor Emeritus at Stanford University School of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine, and has held various other leadership roles in the medical community. He is also a co-developer of the Care Program for Refugees (CPR), a nonprofit program that provides medical and psychiatric assessments and treatments to victims of trauma, war, and refugees in war-torn countries.
