  • Dr. Salila Hashmi is dual board-certified surgical oncologist with subspecialties in hepatopancreatic o-biliary (HPB) surgery and peritoneal surface malignancies.
    She completed her medical education at the Aga Khan University, Karachi, Pakistan. She then moved to the United States and worked as a postdoctoral research fellow studying transplant immunology at Emory Transplant Center. She then completed a general surgery residency and a fellowship in critical care at the Emory University, Atlanta, GA. Following this she moved to Canada and completed a dual certified fellowship in surgical oncology and hepatopancreatic o-biliary (HPB) surgery at the University of Calgary, Alberta.
    She was then recruited to the University of Alabama Hospital, Birmingham, AL (UAB) where she was instrumental in establishing a peritoneal surface malignancy and HIPEC (Heated Intraperitoneal Chemotherapy) program - the first of such in the state of Alabama. She received the Patient Experience Leader award in her first year of practice at UAB. In 2023 she moved to Newnan, Georgia and worked as a surgical oncologist at City of Hope, Atlanta. She was named a Castle Connolly 2024 top doctor.
    Currently she works as a surgical oncologist at Health One in Denver, Colorado.
