Summary

  • I am a busy endocrine surgeon at Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School in Boston. I have a particular interest and expertise in thyroid and parathyroid tumors. I focus my clinical efforts on endocrine surgery and apply my basic science knowledge and expertise to tumor progression in thyroid cancer. I perform over 300 endocrine surgery operations per year, many for thyroid cancer utilizing the latest technologies including recurrent laryngeal nerve monitoring. I am a council member for the most prestigious organization of endocrine surgeons in the US, The American Association of Endocrine Surgeons, and a member of the American Thyroid Association. I was the recipient of the Eleanor and Miles Shore Harvard Medical School Faculty Award for my research in the role of BRAF oncoprotein in thyroid cancer invasion. I am doing active research to understand why some patients with thyroid cancer do worse than others and how to help them. I have been recognized as one of the Boston surgeons named in Best Doctors in Boston Magazine
