Summary

  • I am a practicing physician based in Northern California. I have an MBA with a health care focus and am currently pursuing a health informatics degree at UC Davis. I have developed a keen interest in the interplay of public policy and environmental factors that is leading to an epidemic of poorly prevented, managed, and treated chronic diseases. I am interested in the following: (1) Integrating patient generated and encounter generated data to develop clinical decision support tools for chronic disease management and point of care decision making. (2) Utilizing digital technology, social networks, analytics, and theories of self quantification to develop services that engage the health care consumer.
In my opinion, health systems should be designed to empower both the consumer and the provider by providing them with the necessary tools to implement health promoting goals.
