  • Shelley Irving, MSPAS, PA-C is an Assistant Professor and Site Director of the Morehead Campus for the UK Department of Physician Assistant Studies (UKPAS). A 2008 alum of the Morehead Campus location of UKPAS, Mrs. Irving proudly returned to the College of Health Sciences as faculty in 2016 where she serves in a variety of teaching and administrative roles.

    Mrs. Irving is Board Certified through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and licensed by the Kentucky Board of Medical Licensure.
    She has over 10 years of experience providing primary and voluntary care services to patients in rural Eastern Kentucky. Regionally, she serves on the St. Claire Healthcare Board of Directors, the People’s Clinic Board of Directors, and the Northeast Area Health Education Center’s CME committee where she advocates for high-quality healthcare for the patients of Eastern Kentucky.

    Nationally, Mrs. Irving serves on the Physician Assistant Education Association’s Internal Medicine and Family Medicine End of Rotation National Standardized Examinations Board as a content writer.

    Primary interests include interprofessional models of care, preparing students for rural practice, patient and professional advocacy.

    In 2019, Mrs. Irving earned the honor of being named an Interprofessional Faculty Fellow. She was also honored to be a 2022 recipient of the William H. Marquardt Community Health Access Fellowship.
