Dr. Simon Powell is a radiation oncologist based in New York, NY, specializing in breast cancer and translational research. He has been the Department Chair at Memorial Sloan Kettering (MSK) Radiation Oncology since 2008. A graduate of University College London Medical School (Class of 1981), Dr. Powell is actively involved in basic and clinical research and has contributed many publications in high-profile and oncology-focused journals. He has been funded by NIH research grants since 1992 and his principal investigator of the MSK Breast Cancer SPORE. His recent clinical trials focus on the use of DNA repair inhibitors with radiation; breast cancer radiotherapy studies and oligometastatic disease trials of radiotherapy.
