• I, Dr. El Djouzi, am a surgeon deeply committed to the disciplines of bariatric and metabolic surgery. My academic odyssey was initiated at the University of Medicine of Algiers, where I was conferred with a doctorate in medicine. This milestone prefaced my foray into the surgical field in London, England, a journey that saw the fruition of my surgical aspirations with the successful completion of my surgery board examination after a five-year tenure.
  
  Thereafter, my professional path led me to the United States, where I embarked upon a surgical residency at the University of Illinois Chicago, an endeavor that culminated in a celebrated graduation five years later from a program in Cincinnati. In pursuit of further specialization, I embarked on a dual fellowship at the Carolina Medical Center, focusing on minimally invasive surgery as well as metabolic and bariatric surgery.
  
  Prior to the year 2019, I served in an academic capacity at Loyola University Medical Center. Subsequently, I founded a private practice devoted to bariatric and metabolic surgery, maintaining professional ties with the University of Chicago. My credentials are further bolstered by my status as a Fellow of the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgeons and as a board-certified surgeon. Academically, I hold a Master's degree in Surgical Endoscopy from the University of Strasbourg, France, complemented by an Executive MBA. In my capacity as a Diplomat of the American Board of Obesity Medicine, I am ardently dedicated to the advancement of surgical methodologies and to making a substantive contribution to the medical fraternity.
