- Dr. Sohit Paul Kanotra is the founder and Director of the Pediatric Aerodigestive Center at Children’s Hospital New Orleans, and the Surgical Director of the Multidisciplinary Pediatric Thyroid Clinic and the Vascular Anomalies Clinic. He is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Otolaryngology, at the Louisiana State University. He is dual fellowship trained in Pediatric Otolaryngology from the prestigious Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, and Thyroid Parathyroid surgery from St. Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital in Columbia University, New York. He has been instrumental in starting the only multidisciplinary Airway clinic in Louisiana, catering to children with complex airway and swallowing issues. He also instituted the multidisciplinary thyroid case conference along with the department of Pediatric Endocrinology. Dr. Kanotra has an expertise in management of complex airway disorders including open airway reconstruction and hearing rehabilitation especially implantable hearing devices. He has also set up a Pediatric Functional Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing Clinic in Louisiana for management of children with complex swallowing concerns. Apart from having a very active clinical practice, Dr. Kanotra is involved internationally in various humanitarian efforts. He is actively involved in research and fosters a strong interest in basic science research in airway reconstruction as well as clinical research focused on Pediatric Dysphagia, implantable hearing devices and thyroid disorders.
