Summary

  • Dr. Asadi currently serves as Medical Director of the Opioid Treatment Program and Medical Review Officer at the Hines Veterans Administration in the near western suburbs of Chicago, IL. She is also program director of the addiction medicine fellowship at Loyola University Medical Center. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Women’s Health and her medical degree at the University of Iowa. While in medical school, she received two international medicine awards that enabled her to study occupational medicine in Poland and obstetrics/gynecology in Costa Rica. She thereafter completed psychiatry residency at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO, and an addiction psychiatry fellowship at the University of Illinois at Chicago. As an assistant professor of psychiatry at Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine, she provides specialized training to medical students, residents, and addiction fellows from a variety of clinical disciplines. Dr. Asadi is double board-certified in the addiction field by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and the American Board of Addiction Medicine, and is also certified in academic medicine. Her other academic interests include theories of chronic pain and Spanish for medical professionals. She is a fellow of the American Psychiatric Association, a member of the American Academy of Addiction Psychiatry, and a member of the American Society of Addiction Medicine.
