Dr. Soumya Adhikari is Professor of Pediatrics and a pediatric endocrinologist at UT Southwestern Medical Center and Children’s Health in Dallas, Texas. He earned his MD from the University of Miami Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine (2001) and completed residency training in Pediatrics and fellowship training in Pediatric Endocrinology at UT Southwestern. His work centers on pediatric diabetes care, with particular emphasis on diabetes technology and clinical informatics, including the practical integration of continuous glucose monitoring and automated insulin delivery into clinical workflows. Dr. Adhikari’s scholarship includes outcomes-focused research in type 1 diabetes—such as prevention and management of pediatric diabetic ketoacidosis—and participation in clinical trials evaluating therapies and technology-enabled strategies to improve glycemic outcomes. He also serves as Medical Director of Camp Sweeney, supporting safe, high-quality diabetes care and education in a large residential camp setting.
