- Dr. Stephen Brunton is a board certified family physician and practices in rural South Carolina. He received his medical degree from Monash University Faculty of Medicine in Australia and completed a residency in Family Medicine in Long Beach, CA. He is a past president of the California Academy of Family Physicians and previous Director of the AAFP Division of Education. He is experienced in diabetes mellitus, medical education, primary care / family practice, and respiratory system disorders. He holds the academic rank of Professor in the Department of Family and Preventive Medicine at the University of South Carolina, He previously served as Editor-in-Chief of Clinical Diabetes, the ADA's primary care journal and currently serves as Ad Hoc Editor-in-Chief for Diabetes, Obesity and Cardiometabolic Care (DOC Care). He is also Executive Vice President of the Primary Care Education Consortium.
